It is that time of year where I, and a team, travel Burundi with the Jesus Film to share with several communities. The travel team and I were making our plans for departure and scheduling our visits with churches. It felt like we had a good plan. We were ready and excited. Then God hit the ‘pause’ button. My vehicle, which we use for the trip, needed major repairs to suspension and transmission. It did not feel like simple items to neglect. I feared being stranded in the countryside without access to qualified mechanics or the necessary parts. I chose to make the repairs even though it placed our plans in chaos.
Now, the vehicle is still with the mechanic. It is very hard to wait. We thought we had prepared everything for our journey. We are having to adjust our plans. We trust in God’s timing for this ministry event. We pray He will send us out and He will bring us back according to His plan.
We are looking at “Plan B” for our travel. We think we can proceed with an alternative vehicle. We will adjust the schedule for the days we have missed. God is preparing this way. May our presence in these places bring a ‘new thing,’ a ‘pure thing.’ The impact may not be immediate as we stand there on that evening, but I pray God can use these events to grow communities passionate about knowing Him.
Thank you for your prayers surrounding this endeavor.
